There are not enough qualified professionals in Germany.
ApplyGuide offers interested people from abroad information on life, work and job offers.
As a result of the demographic development in Germany, businesses are now dependent on the immigration of qualified workers. According to calculations by the Prognos research institute, there could be a shortfall of approximately three million skilled workers, technicians, researchers and medical professionals by the year 2030. Other economic institutes regard this number as exaggerated, yet it is an undisputed fact that the Federal Ministry of Labour's most recent progress report also warns of a lack of qualified professionals. Longer working lives, greater labour-market participation by women, and more investment in education and further training alone will not be enough. Hiring qualified women and men from abroad has therefore become an important element of securing a sufficient number of qualified professionals. About two million people from 200 countries worldwide use it every year. In this way, Germany is positioning itself as a modern and liberal immigration country. According to the OECD, Germany has one of the most liberal immigration systems for highly qualified people of all industrial countries.
